The Flippox Dynasty

SM Pictorials - Flippox Dynasty

Let me introduce to you guys the Flippox Dynasty! These are my crazy weird friends from high school and I am surely going to miss them when I leave for Canada. The pictures you see were taken from SM Cagayan de Oro. What can I say? The people at Flippox Dynasty are very smart, beautiful, handsome, creative, artistic, and perverted (well some members at least) hahaha! That is why that even at a Despedida gathering we can't help but make art through our pictorials. I too was excited at the idea of a pictorial (I'm a frustrated model hahaha) and you can check me out here:
SM Pictorials

So what is the Flippox Dynasty? Well there is already a Flippox Dynasty Bibliography created by the wacky Glenn and it goes like this:
Before I reveal to you this very sacred and important text it is necessary that you observe all proper decorum in an act of respect and devotion to our beloved group and cause. None of the information you are about to read today must leave knowledge of yourself and must be upheld with deep security. Will you now please stand up, raise your right hand properly in the air, and place your left hand on the right side of your chest, and read loudly the following words:

"I (state your full name, vital statistics, and age), properly oblige to the group's foundations and observes sincerely the laws and regulations passed down unto us by our very hot and all-knowing super-founder, the Super Overlord God-Emperor Glenus Paolus Tulos, and the less great and powerful founder, Empress Snow Queen, the queen of the ice cubes. Any violation or revelation of Flip D. secrets to citizens outside the sophistication of this membership, I shall willfully inherit the punishment of castration (for men) and/or death by stoning or mutilation (women)."

After reading the first paragraph, will you now please place your left hand on the top of your head, your right hand on your butt, lift your right leg parallel to your waist and sing the first phrase of the Macarena. After which you then say these words aloud.

"My mama is so fat, when she farted she launched herself into space!"

You now take a brief pause and make a gentlemanly bow. You may now take your seat.

You are now officially granted access to the secrets of the Flip D. at the price of your dignity and intelligence. You may now continue.

HISTORY OF Flip D.
- This text was found in a pink journal of the Super Overlord God-Emperor during the early foundation of the Flip D.

Text No. 1. It said the following:

Flip D., or more "popularly" known as the Flipox Dynasty, is a worldwide organization that was founded in the land of Lumbia, in an open space of the XUHS campus, called the-covered-used-to-be-an-open-space-court. It was a time of chaos and war.

Amidst this, I, the Super Overlord God-Emperor, in an amazing and rare act of super heroics that only super overlord god-emperors like me could ever perform, decided to lead the Flip D. freedom force to overthrow the evil tyrant named the Snow Queen and her army of hypnotized
mushu dragon clones. Together with my right-hand general, Major Minor Lieutenant General Captain Peperus Villiarus Peperonicus, then known as the abominable eggnok, made an initial strike to the heart of the Snow Queen's capital, the Loyola fortress.

Our attempt was futile. The Snow Queen's mushu dragon clones proved more powerful and outranked us five trillion to zero point one.

But then, when we thought all hope was lost, came hope (duh!). Kit the mother superior, Abbie the anime fanatic, Edgar the pinya-man, and Eurie the sports girl/guy-who's-also-good-in-her-studies, all came in a resounding clap of thunder. Together they smote the mushu dragons with unbelievable strength!

The battle was bloody! The pinya-man used his razor-sharp pinya leaves that seemed to have mutated on the top of his head and cut off the limbs of the enemy. Kit the mother superior called forth her ability to talk things out and well she talked things out!! Maj. Min. Lt. Gen. Cpt. Peperonicus transformed himself into a tank and drove through enemy defenses easily. Eurie hit everyone in the face, including me. And I, the most powerful of all, used my exotic Korean catfight moves which I learned from the monks of Mt. Kitanglad who happened to be Koreans, who happened to have escaped from the mental institution, who happened to be cold-hearted serial killers, who happened to be just reflections of myself in a mirror due to an impaired mental judgment of reality caused by weeks of extreme dehydration. How I or the mirror got to Mt. Kitanglad is none of your business. NONETHELESS my impressive skills decimated nearly eighty percent of the enemy, rendering the actions of my comrades completely irrelevant and useless.

It was then when the Snow Queen finally emerged from the horizon in her pajamas and in blinding radiance. Our advance was halted immediately! She had emerged from her sleep and her hair looked like crazy! It was then when we realized that the Snow Queen had recruited help as well. Our greatest fear had become reality! Daphne was revived from her "hibernation", and Princes Mimi, the Snow Queen's sister, had begun her transduction, otherwise known as puberty, and thus making her considerably powerful, and not to mention "grown".

ANYWAY! As if our situation wasn't bad enough, the Snow Queen also biologically enhanced five mushu dragon clones she now calls The Elite Mushu Dragon Rangers Squad, otherwise the TEMDRASQUA! Each one has the fighting potential equivalent to seven hundred billion normal mushu dragon clones.

We all paused ourselves in deep silence as somebody blew his fart and also because none know the actual outcome of the battle. Both sides are now equally matched. But then... a glimmer of hope... in a situation of hopelessness and smelly gas, a brave warrior came to our aid...

Optimus Prime had come!

(By the way JM, Yoojin, Kris, and the rest will be appearing later on in the story! So don't complain!! Hehehehe.)
So much for that... here is my version. And I am not Pinya Man, I am Pine Edgar, a mentor in spiritual and philosophical topics who is renowned for profound wisdom... Anyway I will now tell you the history of the Flippox Dynasty...
The Flippox Dynasty was originally formed at Xavier University High School during the freshmen years of the founders, me (Edgar aka Pinya Man since I live in Pineapple Country and I had spiky hair then), Glenn aka Confused Dick Overlord (because he is very smart and talented, a writer and artist, a philosopher of Confusedcianism, but a perve), Pepper aka General Egghead (see for yourself, joke) and Kevin aka Pretty Boy (because he left the group to pursue girls hahaha).

I don't know why the three of us banded but maybe this is because of the horror and shock that we had encountered during the War of the Lunch Tables during lunch time. You must be in a group in order to have a proper seat and table during lunch time. I remember that if the lunch bell rings a representative of the group must dash down the stairs to the Open Shed to secure a territory for eating hehehe.

Because the three of us were very powerful since we have our own lunch area, many less fortunate beings came to us for shelter (hehehe). And these beings were Angela aka Snowqueen (since she is as white as snow, a singer, artist, model, host, and she overthrew the three founders and proclaimed herself empress), Kit aka Mother Superior (for her motherly charms), Eureka aka ??? (she doesn't have a nickname except that she is another philosopher and she founded the Shanidarism).

We were a very happy group and we then had new additions to our Dynasty:
  • Mimi - the Snowqueen's Sister
  • Abi - the Anime Fanatic
  • Mik aka Mushu the Dragon (cause he looks like one? not sure hehehe) oh yes, another perve hahaha!
  • JM aka Abi-Look-a-Like! Hahaha! She's also called Innocent JM because she doesn't want to hear words like panty, boobs, ****, and you get the point. She is the complete opposite of Glenn!
  • Eliza the Smily Girl (she's always beaming... and happy!)
  • YooJin the Korean (hehehe don't know here that well)
  • Manong Eugene - The personal servant of the Snowqueen. Before Pepper was the servant but he quit hehehe
  • Actually there are two or more other Flippox Dynasty people but I haven't been around with the Flippox during college because I can't deprive the other people from me hehehe.
But whatever! I'll miss these guys so much! Take care ok? ^_^

The Filipino Subject

I had always thought that my Filipino classes were useless. For those who don't understand what I'm talking about, Filipino is a language class (just like English) were we learn how to speak and write in Filipino. I am a person who is practical and studying 2 classes in Filipino was the most impractical thing that I had ever done (well it was required of me to take Filipino classes).

I believe that taking the subject, Filipino, in elementary and high school was adequate enough because writing and speaking in Filipino fluently will not be required in my future career. I say this because even in the Philippines, all formal business transactions are transacted in English unlike other Asian countries like Japan and Korea where they transact business with their own language.

I had brought this topic up before at my university's forum and the people there said that I was selfish. Selfish? Selfish in what way? It pains me to know that some Filipinos are not open to change and change ladies and gentlemen is required for progress.

I am not saying that Filipinos should stop wasting their time learning and studying Filipino. What I'm saying is that in the college level, education should be more focused on teaching the students things that are related to their future career.

You see at our university we are thought a lot of things (because they want students to be well-rounded yes) but some of these subjects are impractical to me (Filipino is one). Other subjects that I find impractical is Physical Education (PE). I know that exercise is important but the only thing we do at PE is dance. My minor subjects tend to take up all of my time that I am not able to focus on subjects that really matter like Pathology, Physiology and Anatomy, Biology, and other subjects that are related to nursing.

I honestly believe that I had wasted my 2 years of college because these two years were only focused on finishing all of my "minor subjects". All my nursing subjects only began at second year and we only were able to set foot in the hospital at third year. Because of minor subjects I feel that there wasn't enough time for me to learn nursing concepts at all.

That's why I'm glad that I'm going to start studying again as a freshmen at Canada this coming school year. Imagine, all the major nursing concepts are already being studied in the first year level. I really can't wait to begin studying.

And oh yeah guess what, studying Filipino will not be of any help in Canada.

Career Options: Sonography Tech

I'm really serious about my future and right now I've been busy looking for other career paths aside from nursing and I have found another medical career that fits my interest and that's being a Sonography Technician.

So what is the job description? Well you operate and assist in the use of a high-tech ultrasound machines to direct waves to create an image of different parts of the body like the brain, eyes, and abdominal organs. Another interesting moments in a Sonography tech life is that he gets to share with the patients the joy and wonder when they have a video image of a fetus inside a mother's womb. You really get to appreciate God and all his wonders as you observe that fetus grow and mature as the mommy goes for her monthly check-ups.

And the pay is also good (average salary falls between $41,420 and $56,020 per annum) and your sure that you will be in demand since sonography/ultrasound is a standard operating procedure in hospitals so that doctors could easily and safely diagnose a patient's condition.

So if you're like me who is looking for other career paths in the medical field why not check out sonography and visit your nearest sonography schools for more info. And guess what, some universities offer online schooling for those who are working or have part time jobs.

Why Not Become An X-Ray Technician

Ok, in my last post I said that I might not be able to finish my Bachelor of Science in Nursing or maybe I'd pursue another career in the medical field. As they say, when a door closes enter a window! I've found another great medical career that I know I'll definitely go into if my plans for nursing don't push though. And what career is this? No other than being an x-ray technician.

What a better way to work in the hospital and you're pretty much in demand because x-ray diagnostics is a routine procedure in every hospital. And take note that the median wage for an x-ray technician is $40,000. That's more like a registered nurse's salary!

But let's not talk about money. Being an x-ray technician is also quite interesting as you get to work with state of the art equipments like X-rays, MRI's (magnetic resonance imaging), and CT (computerized tomography) Scanners. Plus you don't have to suffer like some nurses who have a lot of patients to handle, illegible doctor handwritings, and some very irritable patients.

So if you're a nurse you only need to study for one year and you could already be an x-ray technician. Even I, who have finished a 2 year Associate In Health Science Education, could qualify as an x-ray technician so I already have another career path if ever nursing does not work for me.

My Bubbly Teacher

I posted here about my day being bad and all but you know what? It's still 2:00 pm and even though I have no money to buy food maybe this day could still turn around and end up with a happy conclusion.

But I don't have to wait for happy things to happen because something wonderful did happen already. I saw three of my old high school teachers and I'm glad that I did. I saw Ma'am Gomez, my beloved first year home room adviser and Science teacher who was very busy so I didn't interrupt her. I also saw Ma'am, I mean, Dr. Vedua, who was very professional looking as always. She's my former Trigonometry teacher by the way and she is a very smart woman! She won't get her PhD if she wasn't, duh! She was with one of my clinical instructors in front of the AVR 1 and they were talking to each other and asking if they had WiFi connections with their laptops. I was wondering how they knew each other but let's just leave that as one of the great mysteries of the world hehehe.
But one teacher really struck me the most: Ma'am Almeñana. I saw her at the high school, actually she saw me first. I was waiting for my transcript of records and I was fiddling with my laptop when a roll of paper swung in front of my screen I looked to see who it was and there was my former Economics teacher smiling and was very bubbly. She was wearing casual clothes and her image was refreshing. I smiled back and great memories flowed in. It was very flattering that after 3 years my former high school teacher still remembered who I was despite having a lot of new students every year.

Awe I'm reminiscing the good days again. As the guest speaker in my brother's graduation said yesterday, we can never be able to pay back our teachers for all of the things that they have taught us. That is why I highly respect my teachers.

What a great day this is indeed. I'll sure miss them when I'll move away.

Fifty-Six Cents... Oh boy... Seriously?

You might be wondering what I'm blabbering about this Fift-Six cents thing. Well let;s just say that this day is so tiring and depressing. Here's the story. I went down to the city (literally since I live in the beautiful mountain province of Bukidnon) to get my transcript of records from Xavier University High School, which is also located on another mountain... why am I obsess with mountains? Anyway my mom gave me Php 150 for my fare and food and I was like what? You're only giving me this amount? How am I going to get home (the fare going to our house is Php 45 by the way)? She told me that we'll just go home together since she already gave the rest of her money to my little brother who went to the beach with friends. At first I was mumbling why is his allowance for the day bigger than mine but I decided not to make a big fuss about it to prevent any problems.

So I went down to the city and decided to take a taxi up the second mountain because it was already 10:30 and business hours today are only up to 12 noon and I still had to go to the main campus to take care of my other transcript of records in college. I was thinking that the fare for the taxi would only cost around Php 60. But to my great dismay and surprise I had to pay Php 75. I would try to make a run for it but not only is that plain evil I couldn't run fast enough because I was carrying with me a laptop and the taxi driver has... well his car.
But if you think that my misery and impoverished state was worst enough I had to pay another Php 30 for the transcript of records processing fee. So to sum up all my fare to go down the city and up another mountain and subtract that from the money I had, I will get the great total of Php 16. Oh my God, I'm so pathetic.

But my misery does not end there. Well I took the jeepney this time since I had no choice, I was broke, and I paid Php 6 for the fare. I then proceeded to our College of Nursing to get my recommendation letter which happened to be not there. Well, I'm not really complaining since there is still a lot of time and I understand that they should prioritize the job application recommendations of past graduates (our 98% PRC Nursing Board Exam Passers). Oh well, I still do have to apply for the release of my transcript of records so no big deal, I'll just return this Monday.

And so this part explains why my post title is Fifty-Six Cents. I went to the finance office to have my clearance card checked and signed when the lady at the registrar printed out an account statement. I new that meant that we still had unfinished financial obligations which seems unrealistic to me because we have already settled all of this before my final exam. How on earth would I take the final exam if I haven't paid my tuition completely right? As I read the statement I was taken back... Running balance: Php 0.56. As in for real? Seriously? Fifty-six cents! They want me to pay Fifty-six cents! Of course I really did not worry about paying Php 0.56 but my point is my school sure does think of money as very important as they still had bothered to hold my records because of an unpaid Php 0.56.

Well I paid up what I lacked and smiled when I was given Php 0.30 cents for my Php 1.00 that I gave. An evil thought came into my mind: what if I demand that I be given the "EXACT" change as it seems that cents these days are very important to them. But of course I didn't do that because the lady was very nice and helpful to me. So in return to her kindness and respect, I shown her kindness and respect.

But my encounter with the bookcenter is the main even why my day is so shitty today. Imagine, there were 6-8 people inside that pathetic useless office and no one even bothered to approach me at the window. I understand that it's still office hours and costumers are always important. But these stupid so-called "Student Assistants" are of no assistance at all. I was very calm and kind when I said, "Excuse me" but they just went on with their lives talking. Finally there was this girl who went to the window to get some paper or something and I asked her where I could have this clearance slip signed. She said Window 5 (without even looking at me the whole time). I peeked at window 5 and it was closed. So I went back to her and informed her that there was no one at Window 5. And my very angry self suddenly blurted what I wanted to suppress: "Mga Bastos!" Translation: You people are so Rude! And it was true. They seem to have all the time doing nothing and they don't even entertain students very well. Well then, you should just close down if you don't want to do any service for the students. Seriously, I never buy things from them because aside from their snail-like movement there goods and books are crappy.

And so that ends my miserable story. I'm hanging out at the bridge of the Aggies Building because it's the only part of the school that I could get a WiFi connection since the library is closed. I'm hungry and I am so bored! Good thing I decided to bring my laptop, I would have died from boredom and hunger pangs if I didn't.

Bottom line, despite some shitty office and services that Xavier University has, I still love Xavier and am proud if it. It just have to remove some unworthy people from their jobs.

GO ATENEO!!!

Words can't tell how proud I am to be an Atenean! For 75 years, XAVIER UNIVERSITY - ATENEO DE CAGAYAN have been forming men and women for others who are competent, committed, and compassionate.

XAVIER UNIVERSITY, the first Jesuit University in the Philippines and the first university in Mindanao. Celebrating its 75th year of truth and excellence! From being literally demolished during World War II it now rises in it's shining glory as it is now. Rooted in history and I know will continue to go on strong and build better leaders for our country, the Philippines.

I have been a proud Atenean ever since high school. Once I was enrolled and started to go to school at Xavier University High School - Ateneo de Cagayan (XUHS), I could really feel that there is something very different in the atmosphere. It was a feeling of great achievement and of great passion. It is at XUHS that I could safely say that I was molded into a true blue Atenean who does more than what being asked (who never settles for mediocrity (magis). It was at XUHS where I found myself and I really felt at home. I was also glad that I went to XU for my College Education. It is here that I had found my future and who I envision my self to be, a Registered Nurse who places the sake of his patients first and who plays a role as a patient advocate. It's sad that I have to leave this wonderful community as I am about to leave for Canada. But my heart and passion will always be a true blue Atenean.

Again, I am PROUD to be an ATENEAN!!!

Ateneo de Davao Univeristy (ADDU)

This picture was taken last month (November) and I really like this pic. it shows that I have actually achieved one of my dreams and that is to visit ADDU. I have planned to visit ADDU when I was in Davao for our psychiatric affiliation but I was only able to visit my sister school when I came back to Davao for our medical examination.

being infront ADDU was a sense of accomplishment for me. Don't get me wrong I am a true blue Atenean. I have studied at Ateneo since high school. And if only I could already take care of myself and live alone during grade school then I would probably be studying in Xavier University Grade School (Ateneo de Cagayan). There's a lot of pride in me hehehe. But I do love my school. That's a fact.

I was about to write about my Davao experience but it's too lengthy and I'm a lazy bum hehehe. Anyway I wasn't really able to enter the campus since it's already dark and we were only there to buy some Pomelo from the sidewalk vendors infront of the school hahaha. Like we stopped at the side of the road (you can actually see my tita's car in the picture) and the vendors came to us (imagine that). We then decided to go out because we wanted to taste which vendor's pomelo is good (it was already more like eating if you ask me). The vendors really opened pomelos and gave each one of us. We then ofcourse bought a lot because the vendors would lose a lot because they really opened their products for us. I had a picture of the trash we left behind infront of Ateneo hahaha I am so bad.

THE TOP 10 SCHOOLS IN THE PHILIPPINES

THE TOP 10 SCHOOLS IN THE PHILIPPINES

This statistics is a result of the study conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), based on the average passing in the BOARD EXAMINATIONS OF ALL COURSES of all universities and colleges in the Philippines.

This study is concluded every 10 years. The following is the result of the first study from
1992 to 2001. Five schools come from Luzon, two from the Visayas and three from Mindanao.

1. University of the Philippines (Diliman Campus /Luzon)

2. Silliman University (Dumaguete City / Visayas)

3. Ateneo de Davao University (Davao / Mindanao)

4. Ateneo de Manila University (Manila / Luzon)

5. University of Sto. Tomas (Manila / Luzon)

6. Mindanao State University (Mindanao)

7. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (Manila /Luzon)

8. Saint Louis University (Baguio City / Luzon)

9. University of San Carlos (Cebu City / Visayas)

10. Xavier University (Cagayan de Oro /Mindanao)

Wooh! My school is in the list! The only one from Cagayan de Oro too. I don't know the latest list though but I bet XU would still be in the Top 10. I heard that there was a latest statistics where XU ranked top 7. I wonder if this would be because of the well-known 100% passing rate of board examinees from the XU College of Nursing...

But you know what? These statistics are so unreliable... plus people are so biased... to be honest, I am one of those biased people hehehe. Who would say that "I'm enrolled in the worst school ever" right? We would definitely say that "my school is the best".

But what are the criteria for being the best? And why is the school so damn important in our lives? One thing for sure is that if you graduate from a reputable and respectable university you would propbably have a greater edge over those who graduated from other unknown schools. And this is a fact. One company I know of in Cagayan de Oro hand-picks applicants who came from XU or a better school outside Mindanao and then if there are some vacant slots chooses from the other top performers from other schools. My source is very reliable thank you.

But in the end, if you don't perform well as expected you would still fail and be fired and you will definitely bring shame to your school. This is why the best schools just don't allow any student to graduate unless they perceive that that student is already capable.

So conclusion? Just work your way to the top and stop wasting time by trying to defend yourself that your school is the best! I'm not hehehe... I'm not the one saying nah my school is better than that school because they know more about skills and stuff and this school is only based on theories... but if I were a person so concerned with people comparing my school to theirs just to prove that they are better, then my rebuttal would be: how can you apply skills when you don't know the theories or reason behind it... duh?! hehehe...

Peace to all!

Out of School Youth

Yup! I’m an official out of school youth… cause I don’t have anymore clases hehehe. I’m going to be bored at home for a while. Thank God that I have summer classes. I’m quite excited to know whether I got good grades, enough to keep my scholarship that is… Hmm… fingers crossed.

What do I do for fun? Nothing much, just surf the net, watch anime, play pc games, in other words… I’m damn bored… not to mention that no one is texting me huhuhu…

On Campus Elections

At last the election days are over! I wasn't aloud to talk about this outside of school because my candidacy will be nullified because of certain technicalities. Yup, I ran for the Xavier University Campus Elections! Could you believe it? Me? Have the guts to pull up something like this which I have never done before?

Anyway I ran for 3rd Year Vice-President for the Council of Nursing Students under the banner of Alyansang Atenista (which is celebrating it's 20th year now!). And thankfully I won!

I'm really happy and at the same time excited to fulfill my responsibilities because I do not want to fail my constituents. I believe that I am capable to lead them because of my experiences in CONUS and at the same time my great passion for change and student rights!

The election has been very bloody I tell you. We have an opponent party who resorted to using the Crusader Publication, the official school publication, as black propaganda. I won't talk about the details anymore because it would just complicate things.

To all who voted me, thanks!

I AM PROUD TO BE AN ATENEAN!

My school may have a lot of short comings and downsides but those are outshined by several positive aspects. I love XU very much and I am proud to be an Atenean! Yes, I AM PROUD TO BE AN ATENEAN! Being an Atenean does not only require Competence! It requires Conscience and Commitment. And as a very intelligent mentor adds... Compassion (for student-nurses)! A true Atenean is a Man and Woman for others who serve under the light of Justice and Truth!

I don't want to prove or start a debate why Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan is one of the most prominent schools in Cagayan de Oro. My purpose in writing this is to express my hurt and dismay.

This essay is directed to a faculty of one school in Cagayan. We all are entitled to our opinions and beliefs and I believe in freedom of expression because this is of course our constitutional rights. But our rights end when we step on the rights of others. I did not want to eavesdrop on this faculty’s conversation with another person while riding a van to my hometown. Of course I didn’t listen in to their conversation but it can’t be help because this faculty’s voice was very loud and clear.

She was saying that her school (university) is better than XU and maybe all the other schools in Cagayan de Oro because of a lot of reasons, reasons of course that are very debatable and can be proven false. I can not help it. I can’t just sit around and listen to this faculty flame and defame my beloved school! I have to express my feelings! Gladly I was in a very pleasant mood so I was still calm and decided not to confront this faculty because I knew that it would just end up in a big mess.

My point is if you want to prove that your school is BETTER than the rest, begin by stating facts about your school. Do not compare and use other schools (especially XU) to prove that your school is a good school. Don’t destroy the name of other schools or the name of other people for that matter to gain fame or prestige. The only logical explanation why people use such low tactics to bring fame to their institution is either they are afraid of good competition or they really suck and have nothing to show the public.

Finally, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan is already a historical landmark in Cagayan de Oro and it has already yielded exceptional Atenean alumni who excel in various fields in various places around the world. This ladies and gentlemen is a FACT! The reason why I don’t have to start a debate or prove anything is because everyone knows that XU is an exceptional school. XU does not need to advertise or promote because XU is already a well recognized school in Cagayan de Oro, in the Philippines, and in the world. This is a fact. And as they say in business, the only reason why a product is being promoted is either it is new or it is not patronized by the public.

Ms. Angelee O. Jasareno

I will surely miss Ma'am Jasareno, she is such a great loss to the XU - College of Nursing... but what can we do, Ma'am Jasareno has to go back somewhere (confidential) to continue her awesome job as a researcher.

Ma'am Jasareno is perhaps the kindest and most loving and even motherly advisor that I had ever met in college. She's the only teacher in college that never aims to degrade your self-esteem but instead lifts you up on a pedestal so you can look at yourself with dignity and pride. No, Ma'am Jasareno is more than a mere teacher... she was a mentor...forming our young minds and forming our attitudes... we arereally empoweredunder her wings.

Ma'am Jasareno is a symbol of credibility and all out generosity... Buhuhu... I'm really getting so sentimental...

My last words for Ma'am Jasareno... she's so incredible! She's my role-model from now on hehehe!

Ohhhh
Troy:
Wait we’re forgetting something
We need other macromolecules

Gabriella:
Oh yes I forgot about
Proteins and Enzymes

Both:
Eating different kinds of food

So we can be healthy

Chorus #2
Troy: Metabolise!
Gabriella: We’re eating’
Troy: Yeah eating!
Both:
Eat lots of protein for our cell’s functions.
Troy:
And for enzymes
and antibodies

Gabriella:
Proteins

Troy:
Yeah proteins
The body’s proteins
Both:
Consists of amino acids
Troy:
There are twenty
Both:
Linked with peptide bonds

Troy:
Let’s name some
Gabriella:
Essential Amino Acids

Troy:
Histamine
Arginine
Gabriella:
Tryptophan
Threonine
Isoleucine

Both:
Methionine

Troy:
Leucine

Lysine
Gabriella:
Valine, what else?

Both:
Phenylalanine!

Chorus #3
Gabriella: DNA
Troy: RNA
Both:
They’re made of phosphate and nitrogenous bases

Pentose Sugar

Troy: Deoxyribose for DNA
Gabriella:
Ribose for RNA
Water In
Troy:
Water Out
Both:
You can change them
By synthesis and hydrolysis
Biochem is fun!
Troy: But it’s already time…
Gabriella: we’re breaking free
Troy: we’re breaking free

Both:
You must know your Biochem
To truly understand… us…

Knowing Organic Chemistry (Chemistry Song)

Knowing Organic Chemistry

Music: Start of Something New (Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens)

Rendition of: Edgar Vincent Peñano Bautista

Living in my own world
Didn't understand
What things are really made of
And how they’re formed
Encountering Organic Chem

Oh I then could see
The beauty of C & H

And all the possibilities
I know that it’s in the bonds
Always covalent bonds
And right here I know

This could be the start
Of something new
Like formaline
To preserve all things
And then adding in more C’s

Then saturate

The start of something new

Now who'd of ever thought that
Benzene is really Bad!
With its six Carbon Chain (Carbon, Carbon)
Electrons delocalized

I know it’s a carcinogen

Maybe a mutagen

I know it for real

This could be the start
Of something new
Like Aspirin
To relieve our pain

And then adding functional groups
I feel in my heart
The start of something new

I never knew that it could happen
With just hydrolysis and hydration
I didn't know it before
But now it's easy to see

It's a start
Of something new
Tires and shampoo
Made from polymers
And now cleaving of some C’s
Or repositioning

That it's the start
Of something new
It feels so right
To know all these things
And now looking through Organic Chem

I feel in my heart
The start of something new
Start of something new

Xavier student charged for game hacking

Xavier student charged for game hacking
By MELVIN G. CALIMAG

A third-year college student of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro is being sued and is under investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for allegedly hacking a new online game and posting its "cheat" codes in the Internet.
A formal complaint has been formally filed in the NBI against Camilo Lozano III, described by the legal counsel of complainant Webzen Inc. as a "chronic" game hacker.
A press statement earlier issued by Webzen, developer of the online game MU, erroneously claimed the NBI has arrested Lozano this week. But Elfren Meneses, chief of the agency?s Anti-Computer Crimes Division, denied this since the case was only filed last Tuesday.
"There is no arrest made yet because we still have to send our agents to Cagayan de Oro to investigate," Meneses said in an interview, adding that computer experts from the NBI Manila office have yet to look at the evidence of the case.
Atty. Salvador Belaro Jr. of Belaro & Associates, counsel for Webzen, said the company?s technical consultants, together with NBI agents in Cagayan de Oro, conducted an initial investigation on the activities of Lozano prior the filing of the complaint.
Lozano, who uses the call sign "Camilord," is allegedly one of the country?s most notorious hackers who is on the NBI?s list for hacking into software applications, the statement from Webzen said.
Belaro said investigators said Lazano posted "cheat" programs in his personal website which other hackers frequented. "Perhaps because he?s still young, he was brave enough to proclaim to the world that he had hacked the game."
The alleged student hacker is being charged for violating provisions of the IP Code and E-Commerce Law, according to Belaro. If convicted, the suspect could face imprisonment and civil damages.
"He (Lozano) could be also liable for more damages for destroying the goodwill of the whole gaming community," Belaro said, noting the introduction of MU Online in the country has brought with it millions of pesos in investment that has created jobs for computer science and other graduates.
The same statement also said the NBI raided two Internet cafes in the same city for suspicion of operating private servers providing illegal access to an unauthorized version of MU. The raid resulted in the seizure of R2 million in computers and peripherals.
Belaro said the anti-piracy enforcement efforts were the first ever conducted by Webzen in the Philippines

Busy Busy Busy

These days I have been always so busy! busy! busy! But I never exert that much effort in my studies at all these days but I still get so tired and stressed. Maybe I’m just suffering from a severe case of laziness because all I do when I reach my boarding house is sleep, sleep, sleep… I feel like Hitome in Vision of Escaflawne who just wants to sleep and fade away… hmm… fading away… this is what I want to happen to me someday… just fade away with no one ever noticing… I want to rest… Or maybe I just need strength. I need strength to be the best that I can be. I thought that I can find that kind of strength in someone else but I realize that I am the only one who can really draw that strength from me… It all relies on me…

Return Demo Tomorrow

I am so scared... actually I'm lying... I don't know why I still can afford to goof around even when I know that tomorrow is our return deminstration for the bed making... Is this a sign that I am so indolent?! Buhuhu... I hope not.

School has been tiring as usual but I am still surviving I think. My grades are satisfactory or fair but I'mnot satisfied at all. I know that I can do better but I just lack the energy to do things but starting now I will do all my best and I'll priorotize my studies over anything else.

I'm so sleepy already... I so lack sleep... ZzZzZ...
